@Kallio can you elaborate a bit more and maybe give an example of the expected output/result. What is wrong? How should it be? What should be done?

From the produced HTML source I can see that at least the <p> tags are escaped and rendered as </p><p>.

I tracked the problem to the Werkzeug library. It seems to be a trivial bug in their code. I reported the bug as pallets/werkzeug#506. I'm closing this with "won't fix".
