Adium (Mac) Support #8
Comments
I just added this plugin to my Homebrew tap. So you could install Pidgin through Homebrew (Adium is dead anyway) and use my tap to install icyque. (I did not test icyque too much, though.) Hint: Also look at https://github.com/Agalin/pidgin_bundle and https://github.com/Agalin/pidgin_macos_integration for better system integration. |
Ugh, I'm super sad about this, as I am waaay out of my depth. If I knew how to make an Adium wrapper for icyque myself, I would. As it is, I created a symbolic link to the executable (installed through Homebrew, yes yes) and dropped it into the "Pidgin bundle" package as specified by the ultra-simple instructions, but Pidgin.app won't launch—OSX thinks the file is damaged. (Showing the contents of the package and double-clicking on the symlink I put there myself launches Pidgin along with the terminal screen, so I can confirm that my symlink is fine.) Looks like the plist file points to the symlink as its executable, so I dunno! It looks like I won't be having any notifications or Mac integration with Pidgin after all, so I'm back to using Adium-but-no-ICQ (although I do faithfully use Pidgin and icyque on my Chromebook, where everything works just great). Thanks for the suggestion, though! |
do u have any news about it? |
Hello,
Is it possible that you could also work out the ICQ WIM protocol for libpurple for den Adium Client (Pidgin for Mac)?
I would be very happy, otherwise there is no other way in Mac to use ICQ with OTR.
I hope I have arranged this request correctly, if not please let me know.
Best regards
