The README has lots of instructions for setting up, but it could use a sentence or two describing what this project is for and its role in the ecosystem.

Yes, definitely!

Frankly, this project isn't much yet, and it doesn't really have a role yet. We're working on that, and as this project actually turns into something we will have a lot of work to do with regard to documentation.

So stay tuned.
