Why doesn't setting Exif.Image.PhotometricInterpretation take effect? #2717

Describe the bug

Command like this:

exiv2.exe -M"set Exif.Image.PhotometricInterpretation 2" D:\codes\image_meta\666.jpg

But the attribute in the picture is null.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS and version: ,Windows 10
  • Exiv2 version and source: (0.27.7 from release)

I would speculate this is by design. Quoting the manual

Exif.Image.PhotometricInterpretation The pixel composition. In JPEG compressed data a JPEG marker is used instead of this tag.
