What can it be used for?

C is a really popular and important language, and having a proper font icon for it would be awesome.

Is there any official logo for C?

Yes, the C itself is the logo (with the same typography), I've seen another variant which may be of interest:

@Berkmann18 any reference to an official website for this logo?

@tagliala I don't think there's an official website, at least as far I know. There are multiple resources about the relevant ISO group and the ANSI company but none of them has any images about the language.
However, the official book co-written by Denis Ritchie (the inventor of C) has the logo on it, which is the same as the first one I posted.

C++ has a logo that was defined by its the ISO. (See at https://isocpp.org)

@asi14 Good to know, but the respective ISO for C has no logos/icons regarding C compared to Denis' book.
