Icon Request: icon-beastie icon-bsd #1999
Comments
added icon-bsd to the title refers to #980 |
How about a downscaled version of this https://www.iconfinder.com/icons/175494/bsd_free_icon ? |

Hum, this icon doesn't represent the whole BSD family, IMHO. It is perfect for FreeBSD, if it's named |
I'm perfectly fine with |
According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSD_Daemon it's the mascot for the whole BSD family... |
That's exactly what we said, actually. |

@eternaltyro As we said it before, BSD family ≠ FreeBSD. This icon is the one from FreeBSD, despite the title. |

@Ypnose - I'm a little confused by what you're saying. This ticket links to this: https://www.usenix.org/legacy/events/usenix04/art/build_icons/bsd.gif That's a (reversed) iconization of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSD_Daemon#/media/File:Bsd_daemon.jpg The FreeBSD logo is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeBSD#/media/File:Freebsd_logo.svg You say "This icon is the one from FreeBSD", presumably referring to the links provided in the initiating post. This seems contradictory. Please explain what you mean. If we're talking about an "icon-beastie", it should be an image of the Beastie mascot. The same works for "icon-bsd", I think. If we're talking about "icon-freebsd", on the other hand, it should be the ball with horns. Right? Perhaps you're referring to the link provided by @olivierlambert but I can't really be sure, because it's a broken link now. |
Hi,
I would like to have an icon for the BSD family. It could be very useful for computing websites/blogs. I'm also requesting it because you added
icon-linux
so all majors OSes would be represented. For example:
