fourk && fiqhack FRs

  • dwarf tour, priest, kn, sam;
  • elf barb, mo; gnome tour; orc sam
  • dig earth ele to damage/destroy it - maybe it takes as much effort as a boulder? maybe it takes as much effort as digging a pit?
  • worn armor weighs less than armor that's in pack / dangling off of you
  • prevent me from throwing (f)iring arrows without a launcher
  • prevent enchanting pickaxe/nothing
  • prevent bare-punching cockatrice
  • don't penalize soko cheats, instead, reward non-cheating
  • altered items like qstaff, wands, say something in their description, even if it's vague, to indicate they've been changed
  • pickaxe expert improves dig speed
  • reduce the surfeit of different weapon skills
  • a dungeon feature that monsters won't step on, to simplify and ease stashing. Perhaps altars, thrones, or graves could be given this property? Too spooky for monsters! Unlike elbereth it won't prevent you from being harmed in any way, it just is a spot that all monsters - or at least non-sapient monsters - won't step on.
  • Sokoban luck penalties end when you win
  • your pets forgive each other for accidental breath attack hits - friendly fire happens in times of war, especially in a world where spells can bounce and explode!
  • jonadab's artifacts
  • raisse's artifact or Itlachiayaque

Just burn Elbereth. It doesn't deter humans or elves (or minotaurs and a few other corner case monsters) but everything else.

  • Built-in Mastermind solver img
  • Remembers which species you've genocided img
  • Tells you what intrinsics/bonuses/penalties a corpse will convey img
  • List common wishes and marker targets for easy input img img
  • Forces you to confirm escaping a wish img
  • Define exactly what you want in your status lines
  • Statuscolors img

I'm aware we're in feature freeze, but better to write it down now than to forget to write it down later.

Real menucolors (per-character, not per-line) including Eidocolors++

Is this something desired? I've considered implementing something menucolor-like, but I'm not sure how to go about it, UX-wise

View the maps of any levels you've visited

Press Ctrl+O, then a level of choice

Overlay a defined level's map onto your terminal

Dubious IMO, seems too much targeted towards already spoiled players.

Message recoloring

Is this useful?

Improved HP monitor (turns dark gray when you're pray-safe)

I think I'd rather incorporate a dNetHack feature telling you when you last prayed, and what happened when you did.

Power monitor

Obsoleted by Pw bar (also STATUSCOLORS on NAO)

Built-in Mastermind solver

Not a good idea, IMO

Tells you what intrinsics/bonuses/penalties a corpse will convey

Possibly something to show in extrawin (the "controls" window)

List common wishes and marker targets for easy input

Not sure if I like the wish thing. Marker is a good point, I might just make it a list instead

Forces you to confirm escaping a wish

I think I'll just force using "none" to wish for nothing

Define exactly what you want in your status lines

This probably needs proper .rc file support because designing a UI around it would be a nightmare

Statuscolors

NH4 already have reasonable defaults, IMO. Possibly make it configurable at some points. (Also, this is probably one of the major features from Interhack that made it into NAO)

Keep track of the intrinsics you've gained and lost

Press ctrl+x, then a

Keep track of your keystrokes (optionally logged to a file) and realtime

I'm not sure if this is of any use.

Automatically #adjust items based on regular expressions

I want this too, except tied to the game rather than matching regex strings

Price IDing support (currently buying only)

Something needs to be done about price ID eventually. Possibly log prices you've seen.

ttyrec output

Use replaymode

Grep ttyrec, which will give you dungeon level and turn number

Use replaymode

Object identification helping img

This exploits a bug

Key macros (e.g. ctrl-E for "E- Elbereth\n")

^E is already mapped to writing Elbereth. General macro support? Hm, maybe.

Automatic termcast img support

Not applicable

...and more! img

I'll fix this bug that this exploits eventually

  • Dwarves and Watchmen should quaff booze when they have the opportunity
  • Reading a blessed scroll of (SOME THING, YOU CHOOSE) while hallucinating, adds a random object property to your weapon or armor
  • Automatically annotate known vaults, anything else that you're able and willing to auto annotate. Moats, elbereths, maybe even important traps that you wanna come back for sometimes? (poly trap! levelport trap!)

Dipping objects into potions of wonder now confer an object property, allthough stacking them is unsafe.

FIQHack's monster lookup now allows you to see what intrinsics corpses grant.

Have a GUI toggle option for friendlies to choose between INVERSE and UNDERLINE (I prefer underline - easier to read).

Friendlies do not use inverse in fiqhack, they use a background color (blue for tame, brown for peaceful).
