NowPlayingSpotify

NowPlayingSpotify is a simple application that retrieves the currently playing song from the Spotify application and displays it in a Windows Forms application and sends it to Windows Live Messenger.

Requirements

• Windows operating system (windows 7 or higher, not tested on XP)
• .NET Framework 3.5
• Spotify desktop application installed
• Windows Live Messenger installed (using Escargot.chat)

Installation

1. Download the latest release of the application from the releases page.
2. Extract the downloaded ZIP archive to a folder on your computer.
3. Run the NowPlayingSpotify.exe file.

Usage

1. Start the Spotify desktop application and play a song on spotify.
2. Start the NowPlayingSpotify application.
3. The currently playing song will be displayed in the application and sent to the Windows Live Messenger.

• Get currently playing song from Spotify
• Display currently playing song in application
• Send currently playing song to Windows Live Messenger
• Add a settings page
• Add option to start application on Windows startup
• Minimize application to system tray
• Add music controls to application (maybe, if possible)
• Add support for other languages
