Although it’s off-topic, it is interesting that thermal camera can actually capture reflections.

Yeah, depending on the reflectivity of the material. In fact, this is what allows you to get 360° panoramic thermal imaging, something I'll cover in an upcoming article.

This was covered in my Summer of Maths Exposition 2023 video for a moment only at 26:13 in the video and as normal color 360° and Thermal Color 360° unified signal live demo at https://mirrorball.frost.kiwi/ as the sample Color + Thermal Hot Tea, Cold Ice Cream
