Brasswell (HP chromebook 11 G5 EE) sluggish browser performance

On the above config, with full firmware + 3.0alpha2 installed, I note degraded browser performance, when compared to chromeos.

I'm unsure how to provide performance data towards this. Attached are 2 PDFs which list the flags under chrome://flags and their values. Perhaps there's a variation in these b/w Gallium and proper ChromeOS.

TO go with this, on pages with moving images, there's random block squares that present themselves. Attached are a couple screenshots to show this.. image a gif made of these to give an idea of what's seen in realtime.
