There seems to be a problem with the update check. After I installed the update
and unchecked the box, the next time I launch GeoDa it keeps asking me for
version 1.8.7. even though I have 1.8.7.

Verified in GeoDa 1.8.7.3 (OSX Yosemite, 10.10.5).
