The changes aren't reflected in my repo. #368

I am having this same issue. For what it's worth, I'm on Android version 10, patch level/system updated up to 2020-10-01. |
Hey. Could you please share your debug logs? Settings -> Debug Logs. I can't reliably reproduce this. |
Let me know if there's a different format I'm supposed to share this in; I'm not an experienced github user yet...
|
Don't know if more information is useful but I experience something similar. Connected GitJournal yesterday to a private github repo and it was able to show all files in the app (Android. App version 1.73.7+2159). However, all changes I make (either in Github or in GitJournal) afterwards are not synced. My repo has only one branch ('main') but in the debug logs it looks like it is trying to merge from the non-existent 'master' branch: |
Same logs as other users on Android in reference to the following errors:
In my case it's not the main vs master problem since my branch is master which the app correctly picks up on, but still doesn't sync. |
Update: I tried clearing cache, clearing storage, uninstalling, reinstalling, and using gitjournal to create a new repo. the repo was created on github when I checked from my desktop computer it existed. I created readme.md on my desktop and a testfile on my mobile using gitjournal. neither have synced to the other. I again saw the little "1" thing during the sync visual, but the sync was not successful. |
Ooo. Could you please attach the logs? |
Oh, sorry. Hope this helps!
|
I'm getting the same error. It seems the current branch is null. Is there a way to set the current branch before syncing? |
I managed to reproduce and fix a part of the problem. I want to write some tests as this part of the code is getting complicated. Lets see how soon as I can get it done. Thanks for bearing with me all this time. I'm still recovering and trying to adapt to programming with one hand and my voice. |
I released version |
Whatever you did seems to work! Thanks! Hope you feel better soon! |
On 1.73.8 with a fresh install and a clear cache and storage it still failed to sync (despite giving me the icon) and I got the following error:
|
Thanks! With the 1.73.8 version, cleared storage and cache I got it working. At first it didn't work like I wanted it to (it pushed to 'master' instead of pushing directly to my default 'main' branch.) I couldn't find anything in the settings about which branch to push, but I fixed it by simply changing the default branch to 'master' in Github and on my computer. |
For what it's worth, my default GitHub branch is already 'master.' and it still didn't work :( |

As I had this issue #363, I made a fresh repo with only one branch. The app was able to detect the folder and cloned it as well. But, when I made changes in the files, it shows synced - shows the pull and push as well. I see nothing in my Github Repo. Not one push. Also, changes I made from my PC into git aren'r reflected in the app.
