Inline tags are now sanitized and , . : ; are removed. The user requested that they be allowed with a special syntax -

From the email -

! and ? could be useful inside a tag, and an extra space like +true ? Would not disturb the sentence too much. 

Parentheses are a little more complicated. 
You could have 
   (bla bla bla +tag) 
where you do not want it to be part of the tag, 
but also 
   bla bla bla +(tag) 
where it would be part of the tag. 

Parentheses perhaps could also include % : and ~, apart from the standard <> [] {} (), like +%tag%
But this is making things complicated. 
Perhaps: do not allow {} and use them to do 
  +{complicated tag with special*}
