Is it possible to use the same pattern for naming the server vm and the database vm?

"${var.project_name}-control-plane"

"${var.project_name}-control-plane-db"

I've tried, but seems that they are deeper connections ( seems we have somewhere some hostnames or variables that expect server ? )
I'm not even a beginner with teraform.

Feel free to close it if it's irrelevant. ( seems more like a nice to have )
