Well perfect occation to properly test the --debug feature!

Could you run it with the --debug and either join the file here or on some sharing space if too big?

There should not have any personal data in the file (but you can check for just in case) if there are I please send the file to crunchy-debug at godzil dot net.

Thanks :)

Here is the output of the debug file:
debug.txt
command run:
crunchy -u "user" -p "password" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging www.crunchyroll.com/overlord -e 27

Oh!

Try to put http:// in front of “www”

Seems like it does not even try to get the page at all considering the debug file.
It also mean that some error is not properly displayed

Edit: I confirm, you need to have http:// in front of the URL or something (not sure where in the request package) will ignore the URL and will not fetch it so can't download the episode list page... 😅

Don't know if I should treat it as a bug, or just put in the documentation that http:// need to be there....

Well honestly, I do think it as a bug, but I'm not really sure of what I can do, I will check what the request library is really doing I don't really find that normal

I think the issue is that crunchy or chrome use to add the "http://" by default. I re-ran the following command: crunchy -u "user" -p "pass"
--debug -o /mnt/e/Staging @http://http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece/episode-846-a-lightning-counterattack-nami-and-zeus-the-thundercloud-774590
debug.txt
this command:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece -e 843-
debug2.txt

Still having issues it looks like, but differently. Let me know if I should open a new issue.

Well for the first onehttp://http:// is for sure not going to work.

Are you sure the file debug2.txt hasn't been truncated?

If yes, something hardcrash and/or the debug is not properly flushed. grump.

Pushed version 1.3.7, now invalid URL should report an error

The http://http:// was a type, apologies. I did update crunchy, ran this command:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece -e 843-
I have attached the debug file.
debug3.txt

Further analysis on a different series, running this command is successful:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/overlord
This tells me crunchy IS working.
The following test does also work:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/overlord -e 2-
That tells me the "e" function works.
Next, test, does not work:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/overlord -e 27-
This tells me seasons are tricky with crunchy. I've noticed some series restart every season at 0, others continue the count (the first episode of season 2 will start at 13). I guess this turns into, what is the command to start downloading from this episode forward on One Piece: http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece/episode-843-the-castle-collapses-the-straw-hats-great-escape-begins-774587 or this one on Overlord: http://www.crunchyroll.com/overlord/episode-2-carne-village-once-more-775053.
Your input is greatly appreciated.

crunchy --output D:\Anime -p pass -u user http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece -e 843- -n "{SERIES_TITLE} S{SEASON_NUMBER} Ep{EPISODE_NUMBER} - {EPISODE_TITLE}"

Does work fine for me with 1.3.6

Can you give me the example with actual season and episode numbers?

@Godzil

Godzil commented Jul 27, 2018

Well that's one reason why I don't like the notion of filter on Crunchy it is because CR are absolutely non consistent on episode numbering and even season numbering. I will do some test later for the other one.
The worst are the dubbed version, instead of having a single stream with multiple audio channels, they have twice videos, one with japanese, one with dub, and that make things even more complicated for nothing...

That is the actual example @Jfigs101 That is the line i used to download Ep 843 just fine.

Running the command:
crunchy -u "user" -p "pass" --debug -o /mnt/e/Staging http://www.crunchyroll.com/one-piece -e 843- -n "{SERIES_TITLE} S{SEASON_NUMBER} Ep{EPISODE_NUMBER} - {EPISODE_TITLE}"
Yields no success:

  • INFO : Crunchy version 1.3.7
  • INFO : You have a premium account! Good!
  • INFO : Checking availability for One Piece
    Debug file attached.

Have you tried the line without the --debug?

Yes! That worked! Thank you!

Your welcome. Please keep in mind a debug switch is only used for debugging to get more info if you encounter a problem. It should not be used all the time.

using --debug should not impact at all the use of Crunchy.

And what I don't understand, all of the debug file you attached was truncated, which is not normal

Which version of Node are you using @Jfigs101?
