The only feedback I have is lint-rule related, but I'll go ahead and fix these in a follow-up commit. Nothing big at all. Cheers!

As discussed, a couple of quality-of-code changes.
The tests don’t pass for me on master, and so they don’t pass here, either. They do pass when run manually, tho.
