Would it be possible to do a check on whether files were moved rather than deleted?
I cleaned up my Google Drive folders yesterday from my local directory. Grive then first deleted all files I moved and then uploaded the new files.
This could be optimized by checking which checksummed files went where.

This makes grive check md5 sums only when:
1) a local rename is supposed (when there are a new file and a deleted file of the same size)
2) local ctime is changed, but file size isn't
