Releases: HICAR-Model/HICAR
HICARsnow
Couples HICAR with FSM2trans (https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2023-2071), allowing the simulation of blowing and drifting snow processes and improving the representation of near-surface air temperatures over snow, and the distribution of seasonal snowpack.
v1.2
Winds:
This release corrects some mistakes in the iterative winds solver and adds the thermal winds parameterization
Physics:
Adds a surface layer scheme, modifies NoahMP to use the same exchange coefficient calculation as the revised MM5 scheme from WRF (the current surface layer scheme in HICAR as well), properly couples the PBL scheme with the SFC and LSM schemes, and adds the ISHMAEL microphysics scheme.
Note:
Code for FSM2trans is contained in this release, but its usage is not recommended. Please refer to the later HICARsnow release for the stable HICAR+FSM2trans model.
v1.1.1
Updated information on running test cases with the model and generating a domain file.
v1.1
Updated from v1.0 with more optimization of the advection code and other non-physics code called each time-step. Coarrays implementation has also been updated to allow for batching of data before sending, resulting in a higher bandwidth during data transfers.
