I was trying to get WSJT-X to work with my FT897D and I ran across a topic/thread on the wsjtx.groups.io site from January of this year. You were helping someone to get it working on a FT710 using a custom libhamlib-4.dll file. From what I read it looks as if the specified .dll file was written to work with several Yaesu models of transceivers.

I searched the site and couldn’t find any solution that would allow WSJT-8 to work with a FT897D on 60m short of performing the MARS modification on the radio or disabling CAT control and having to deal with another method for PTT.

I followed the instructions from the thread, downloaded the .dll file and replaced the original WSJT-X libhamlib-4.dll with the new one. But I wasn’t able to get it to work with my FT897D when set on a 60m memory channel (M-603 5.358.50 MHz) and selected the 60m frequency in WSJT-X.

My question for you is this, are you aware if the modified libhamlib-4.dll should work with a FT897D? I’m trying to rule out the possibility that I did something wrong.

Thanks,

John Pixley
