View Tab won't show without a res folder

I ported a previous project to HEAPS and tried openning it in HIDE. The View tab wouldn't show up, and I found it to be because I'd had an 'assets' folder instead of a 'res'. Because View never showed up, I couldn't add the assets folder, but changing the directory name sorted it out. However, doesn't seem like that's how it should be.
