Virtual Camera Configuration Using Two PS3Eye Cameras

NOTE: This process is only if you want to test using fake stereo cameras

  1. Plug in 2 ps3 eye cameras and set side by side
  2. Follow ps3eye software setup: https://github.com/cboulay/PSMoveService/wiki/PSEye-Software-Setup-%28Windows%29
  3. Launch and then close dist/Win64/release/bin/PSVRConfigTool.exe to generate config files
  4. Open %appdata%/PSVRSERVICE/TrackerManagerConfig.json
  5. Set "virtual_stereo_tracker_count" to 1
  6. Re-Launch dist/Win64/release/bin/PSVRConfigTool.exe to generate VirtualStereoCamera_0.json config file
  7. Make note of the USB paths for the two cameras that were opened in the output log window ex: USB\\VID_1415&PID_2000\\b1_p3.3 and USB\\VID_1415&PID_2000\\b1_p4
  8. Open %appdata%/PSVRSERVICE/VirtualStereoCamera_0.json and set the USB device paths for the left and right camera
  9. Print out the calibration mat in misc\calibration
  10. Launch PSVRConfigTool.exe and open the "Calibrate Stereo Tracker" tool under the "Tracker Settings"
  11. Calibrate the stereo camera using the calibration checkerboard
  • You might want to do this a few times because it's easy to get weird distortion calibrations
