As per http://blog.exceliance.fr/2012/09/04/howto-ssl-native-in-haproxy/, there's now a devel build of HAProxy that supports OpenSSL.
This formula adds a devel build that will build HAProxy with SSL support. It works fine with the system OpenSSL.
I've tested it on OS X 10.7.4, and it Works On My Machine™.
