Sports Analytics Challenge X/PSG

  • This challenge was proposed by Paris Saint-Germain and École Polytechnique

  • It aimed to use data of 2016/2017 French Football league matches to be able to predict the ID of an unknown player, and to determine which team will have the ball for the next action and at which position. Download data and instructions given by the organizers.

  • The winner earned a $100,000 research funding. Other prizes were personalised and signed football jerseys.

  • Ranked 17th out of more than 3000 participants.
