Cassandre currently assists collaboration among team members (involved in the same empirical investigations). But exchanges, debates and collaboration also occur between researchers not involved in the same field research. In congress, scientists discuss findings originating from different fields. This is why concepts are useful : they create bridges between different empirical fields.

Cassandre could help researchers to share coding or theoretical memos, originating from different field researches (thus created in different diaries). This pursues the reflection initiated in #60

Among other features, (expanded) groundings might contribute to such exchanges.

Expanding groundings would mean that the list of memos that can be added to one memo groundings would not be limited to the current diary any more. All the memos that one user can read could be integrated to groundings.

NB: Based on access, such a refactoring would correct the actual behavior, that lists (as grounding candidates) all the memos belonging to the current diary (even those that the user is not allowed to access).

Expanding groundings means that a memo can be integrated to another diary. In its actual design, such integration would have a undesirable consequence : the user will be able to browse the diary where the shared memo originated. Of course, such a browsing would be limited by rights management. This, however, is not sufficient : the user would be confused to see a number of groundings (and leaves) not related to her/his project.

Expanding groundings thus implies to also refactor the (left side) grounding panel : all groundings should (still) be listed but only those that the user can access should be clickable. Perhaps links could be inserted after page is rendered, during the process that computes candidate groundings.
