This comprises many things:

  • creation of the template
  • new blocks, which should be separate issues if we want to do them:
    • headline
    • subtitle
    • byline
    • post featured media

This copies the idea behind INN/umbrella-mstoday#31 into Largo.

  • are there recommended blocks for subtitle and headline, such that we would only create a single server-side-rendering block for the byline?

Creation of the template is blocked by a decision on #1490, but not research on the template or plugins.

Assuming that we need to create the blocks, it's two hours each for:

  • headline
  • subtitle
  • byline
  • post featured media

And 2h for creation of the template

If we wish to base the "blank slate" template around the single-column template, we could maybe use Block Templates for that page? WordPress/gutenberg#18247
