ADCV2x Driver for Android Things

This driver supports the Sparkfun ADC Block for Edison for reading analog devices.

NOTE: these drivers are not production-ready. They are offered as sample implementations of Android Things user space drivers for common peripherals as part of the Developer Preview release. There is no guarantee of correctness, completeness or robustness.

How to use the driver

Gradle dependency

To use the adcv2x driver, simply add the line below to your project's build.gradle, where <version> matches the last version of the driver available on jcenter.

dependencies {
    compile 'com.google.android.things.contrib:driver-adcv2x:<version>'
}

Sample usage

import com.google.android.things.contrib.driver.adcv2x.Adcv2x;

try {
    // The driver has static constants for the different solderable I2C addresses:
    mAdc = new Adcv2x(Adcv2x.DEFAULT_BUS, Adcv2x.I2C_ADDRESS_48);
} catch (IOException e) {
    // couldn't configure the device...
}

// Elsewhere in a loop
try {
    // Get the voltage for one of the 4 available channels, 0-3
    float voltage = mAdc.getResult(0)
} catch (IOException e) {
    // error reading result
}

// Close the block when finished:
try {
    mAdc.close(0)
} catch (IOException e) {
    // error closing
}
