I can't seem to recreate this. Can you test again?

What I am trying to do is copy an individual annotation from one drawing to another, maybe I am not following the correct process but here it is:
Tested it on Blenderbim-230506

Step 1:
2 different plans, 1 has annotation the other does not,
ANNO:
image
NO ANNO:
image

Step 2: Right click on the annotation and "copy object"
image

Step 3: Select the other drawing and "Paste object"
image

(The text does copy)
image

Step 4: Activate drawing
image

Result:
It hides the text:

When you press print it does not have the text:

If you save the Ifc, Exit and reload it to BlenderBim the copied annoation text is no longer there:

It repeats pretty reliably, not sure if this is a feature request rather?
SInce the duplication of sheets with annotation works so well I thought this would too

Here is the test file I used:
Anno copy test.rar.txt
Just rename to .rar and unzip

Ah yes now I see. Yeah I guess in theory it's a feature request. Cool now I understand :)

Is there currently a clever way to duplicate text/annotation, and apply it to another drawing ifcgroup?

Hey @theoryshaw , the current way I do it is this:

How to copy annotations

Step: 1 load the IfcGroups in the Scene Properties under IfcProject Setup:
image

Step: 2 Copy the annotation
image

  • paste in chosen view
    image

Step 3: After you paste, drag the annotations into the chosen collection in the outliner
image

Step: 4 Select the copied objects(dims et) and go to the Object Properties/ Ifc Utilities/ IfcGroups
image

Step: 5 Toggle assigning groups / Assign the new group (will appear below)
image

Step: 6 Remove from old view Ifc Group:

Step 7: Print SVG:

  • SO the goal would be to get this 7 step process down to "copy" + "paste"
Or even "copy to chosen view" as a one click solution, that would be amazing
