  • as phpVideoPro is a web application, you will have your data available anywhere at any time, provided you have Internet access and the server you installed phpVideoPro on is accessible.
  • phpVideoPro stores information about your movie media - such as media type, free space, where the medium is stored
  • phpVideoPro can store details on your movies - such as staff members, runtime, sound type (Stereo, Dolby 5.1, etc.), categories and description
  • phpVideoPro can automatically retrieve this information from the IMDB sites to minimize manual input required (requires IMDBPHP to be installed on the same server)
  • phpVideoPro can create labels for your VHS tapes, VideoCDs, DVDs and Blu-rays
  • the label system (using Postscript) supports LabelPacks, i.e. sets of templates
  • the entire application is template driven and thus can be customized without having to access the code
  • a powerful search system lets you find your movies easily
  • filtering functions support you to only see the things you want to see
  • new media types can be created when necessary
  • the statistics page gives you an overview of what is in your database (how many media and movies, most used categories, most present staff members, and more)
  • phpVideoPro supports many languages. If your native language is not present (or misses some translations), the integrated Translation Editor gives it into your hands to fill that gap (and send the changes to us to include it with future versions of phpVideoPro)
  • Multi-User environment: One installation can serve multiple users, each with his/her own preferences and own data. The user can grant permission to other users to read, update and/or even delete his/her records
  • phpVideoPro can display lists of your movies, of actors, directors, composers - each with links to the details page
  • phpVideoPro can find media with the free space left you need for a new recording. This was intended for VHS tapes and thus may be obsolete today, but it can.
  • phpVideoPro can find duplicate entries - and it's up to you how strong the match is done
  • phpVideoPro can print lists of your records - by movie name or staff members
  • phpVideoPro has an integrated backup mechanism to backup/restore your records
  • from within the admin menu, you can also find (and remove) orphaned files (such as images downloaded from the IMDB sites but not used in any of your records) to keep your disk clean
