Linux 5.3.0-46-generic amd64
Java 14.0.1

on Ubuntu 19.10

I am able to select the View menu item when first starting JabRef, but after doing any sort of filtering (e.g., selecting a group or performing a search) selecting the View menu item causes an uncaught exception (no other menus appear to be affected).

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start JabRef and select View menu (works as expected)
  2. Conduct a search
  3. Select View menu item (triggers uncaught exception, see below)
  4. Click OK
  5. Attempt to select View menu item (nothing appears)

The log file (Help -> View event log) appears to be empty, so I am including the stack trace below:
