Jackett crashes when web GUI is accessed from LAN #2575
Comments
This is some low level mono issue (probably specific to ARM). Try to update to the latest mono 5.8 version to see if it's fixed. What kind of ARM platform exactly is it? |
This is on an Odroid XU4, armv7h architecture. I'm building the beta from the Arch Linux AUR at the moment and will test it when it's complete. |
Jackett seems to be working now with mono 5.4.1.7. Let me stress that Jackett is mostly doing its job -- it is serving feeds to Sonarr and Radarr quite well. It is just the web GUI that seems to be malfunctioning. Downgrading to mono 5.0.0.100 allowed me to update to 0.8.716, as I was about a week behind. I then upgraded to 5.4.1.7 and the GUI worked. This past week, I've been trying to get mono 5.8.0.127 to compile, and with some help from the developers, I finally built it today. Unfortunately, I could not get the web GUI to load at all this time. It hung on opening the page. Attached is a log:
I am not certain I'm not the one at fault here, but Sonarr and Radarr are both currently running and they show "5.8.0" as the mono version, so I think I managed to compile mono correctly. I'll switch back to 5.4.1.7 for now. |
Okay, that "magic number" issue seems to be a problem with ncurses 6.1. Apparently there is a new terminal type that isn't supported, and one workaround is to set
I hope that clarifies things. |
Ok, so I got a stack trace this time with mono 5.8.0.108. Here it is:
Again, when I install 5.0.0.100, the GUI problem goes away. 5.4.1.7 works some of the time but is not consistent -- queries made by sonarr and radarr are handled but attempts to access the GUI are not always handled. I compiled 5.8.0.108 myself but 5.4.1.7 came packaged as an update. |
@kaso17 I followed the steps in #2616 and that seems to be working with When I installed the mono package, it removed some of the certificates I just added, so I added them again. This seems to be an issue that will recur. Do you have a suggestion? |
regarding all the crashes: still a low level mono issue (especially if you're getting a low level stack trace). Can't help with it. |
I had better luck with the Thanks for the help and the hard work. |
Well, Here is the log I captured. Maybe this helps with the issue? I'm not seeing problems with Radarr and Sonarr but I need Jackett to complete the suite.
I had issues with Is there some way I can try to figure out what's causing the CPU spike in mono when this happens? I'm not sure how to take this further. This is happening on my Odroid XU4 (armv7h) and on this machine I'm using, albeit in an Arch Linux VM. I loaded Jackett on a RPi2 and it worked fine with Raspian and |
looks like yet another ARM 64bit related issue. Please send a QUIT signal to the jackett mono process ( |
Well, I feel like I've been spinning my wheels here, but I made progress this morning. I built So with my limited knowledge, building the MS DLLs with monolite? was not producing a stable mono package. When I have more time, I'll pick the brains of the Arch Linux guys on IRC and see if there is a better solution, but until then, I'm sticking with this one. One thing though. The |
I'm pretty confused. I have Arch Linux running Jackett 0.8.743 on a RPi2, mono-stable 5.10.0.40, and it works fine. On my XU4, same versions, and I get a plain html response in my web browser, both Firefox and Chome, no ad blockers, etc. Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/r2g9dbtH The only thing I can think of that is different now from yesterday when things were working is that there was an automatic update. I did that update manually on the RPi2 this morning (it had been disconnected) and had no issues. I have done a pacman -Syu on both machines. I'm starting to wonder if I have a hardware issue. I did the mono update procedure the same on both machines. I have not actually tried reverting to 5.0.0.100 but I'm pretty sure it will work. I'm going to keep digging here when I have some more free time to do so. |
It looks like I had
I guess you need either an |
After speaking with some people on IRC, I think my continuing issues may be related to my power supply. I am still not sure if this is the case, but I'm starting to think it is. I had a chat with the guys at Mono and they didn't see any issues with the way I built it. They kept telling me it was probably my SD card, but I have since tried another new card with a fresh OS. They suggested getting an nVidia Jeston board. Check those out if you want. Very cool but pretty expensive, and overkill for what I use this ARM machine for. By the way, to sum things up with the way I built Mono, in case anyone is paying attention: After I made the build on my regular PC, I synced over I had an older power supply lying around and switched it out, and things have been running more smoothly. I am still getting a crash now and then, so things aren't fixed for me yet. I'm going to run this backup 5V/4A unit for a few more days and see how it goes. I might upgrade to a 5V/6A power supply from Ameridroid. There is also one from Jameco, a Mean Well unit, that I might get for a few more dollars. I've heard good things about their products, and that one comes with a 3-year warranty. It's just nice to be finally not crashing all the time. I have had power issues before with other machines, but the effects were much more obvious. I didn't think this was the issue until someone suggested it. |
I'm running Jackett on a rock64 install that includes After getting the latest mono patches, Jackett is crashing:
I have more details but I don't want to spam this issue if it's not relevant here. @truckershitch could you help me try to run / test Jackett on a previous mono version like you did? |
@inspector71 Sure I can. I gave up with the XU4 (armv7h like the RPi2) because no matter what I tried, I was having problems. After another day I still had those intermittent, unpredictable crashes. I migrated my installation to an Odroid C2 now (aarch64). Is that the architecture you have? It even worked with By the way, sonarr and radarr were crashing, too. I've been watching this machine since yesterday and so far everything is working. What versions of Jackett and mono are you running? What Linux distribution are you running? It looks like there has been work to port Arch Linux ARM to the Rock64 if you're interested, but I think that could be a couple of months down the road. |
Hi GitHub doesn't support formatting for email replies, even if you edit the reply in a browser afterwards! Sounds like you've had a lot of pain with SBCs like me :( They only seem to be good for running simple, one-service-per-install, setups. Yep,
|
Could this be related to #2636? Maybe you need a newer version of Jackett? I forgot to ask you what version of Jackett you are running. I'm also running If that's not it, I'd open a new issue. @kaso17 usually asks for the output of Good luck! |
Well, the full error looks very similar to #2636:
Did have a look at the Jackett releases and was surprised to see how many I'm behind. It's a shame Jackett isn't linked to an apt repo. How do I upgrade? |
Well, I managed to negotiate the Thanks @truckershitch . Legendary help. Much appreciated! |
Jackett crashes when web GUI is accessed from LAN
