Enhanced "Publish" button for Power BI Desktop

  • Retrieve default target Workspace from "PublishTo_WorkspaceName" parameter, measure, annotation, or other custom metadata field
  • Prompt user to confirm or override target Workspace
  • Prompt user to choose a publishing mode:
    • Thick Report
    • Thin Report with Dataset (leverage PBIX splitter tool)
    • Dataset Only (utilize Post Import in Group API with skipReport parameter)
    • or Thin Report Only (prompt user to specify existing Dataset to bind)
  • Sync with SharePoint for Version Control?
