StarD is a server side wrapper for the starmade server. This is intended to offer a plugin based method for loading server side tools.
- Includes init script for running starmade with StarD
- Offers auto-restart functionality to deal with server crashes
- Server side only plugins (all players need to do is login to get the plugin functionality)
- Runs as a normal user (by default), thus is not as much of a security threat as some similar tools may be.
StarD does not actually modify starmade in any way, it uses server commands to enact changes on the starmade server, and reads in server logs to determine when to trigger things. This has the advantage of not needing to be updated every time starmade is. However, it also means that it's ability to effect the starmade server is limited to those commands.
