This might seem like a silly idea but I found it very useful to be able to spin up a Hadoop cluster on existing Windows Servers, and because it all runs in the JVM you can use it for whatever you need to urgently do and then very cleanly remove it again.
- Create the Cluster
- Deploy Apache Spark and Zeppelin
- Use the CLI from your development machine
- Deploy Apache Hive
