As a node beginner it took me some time to figure out that i had to use

.setDirectory( __dirname + '/controllers')

to get this working as a node_module.
Maybe you should change that in the readme.md file?

I faced the same problem and this change did the trick. It would be better for node beginners if this change is reflected into the Readme file.
