Hello,

I tried reading through the Trading part of the wiki and a lot of it just went over my head so I want to make sure I understand it correctly.

With ASF I have two accounts loaded "Account A" and "Account B" that I farm with as I send my dupe keys I get from bundles to Account B.

Now if I trade between Account A and B I know it says trade automatically accept as something with master. I'm assuming this is because the two accounts are in ASF?

What I'm wondering is if someone else was to trade with me will it automatically reject it or accept it? I'd like to have everyone auto-rejected or it just leave for manual approving. Mainly during things like Steam Sales I like to accumulate the cards and then figure out what I want to trade later after crafting my badges and don't want people taking the ones I have and trading them out.

ASF will only accept trades which meet one of the following criteria:

• Steam account that sent the trade offer has Master permission on the receiving bot instance
• Trade offer matches rules configured in TradingPreferences of the receiving bot instance
  By default all other trades are ignored. You can configure ASF to reject invalid trades in BotBehaviour. You can find more details on these configuration properties in the configuration section of our wiki.

As I mentioned in my first post I had read through the wiki with this page in particular. However, a lot of the technical jargon behind it had flown over my head since I'm more use to wiki showing how to utilize each of the steps with examples.

This was one thing I wasn't sure on is what clearly defines a Master. Would it just be one of the accounts in this case or would be both since ASF farms with both?

By looking at the wiki it looks like there are multiple different things that TradingPreferences affects rather than one clear cut thing.

Just by reading the wiki it looks like if one setting is accidently left on it could cause multiple trades that you'd rather not happen. I just couldn't find an option that would simply "Disable All" with the exception of the two accounts in ASF. I see that there is a blacklist option but that requires inputting each name one by one which wouldn't be practical.

Master permissions are defined in each bot config. You can read up on that on the configuration page (your browser most certainly has a search function. Search for "SteamUserPermissions").

I recommend you read through the Configuration page of wiki next. In general I recommend that you leave all options you are not sure about as their default values. These will not do anything that could have a negative impact on your account(s).

Sadly, I've read through all the pages and they all have the same issue where they go into all the technicals of it and don't break it down into an easier understanding of the material. Each of the wiki pages was the first thing I read through since if the information is there I'd rather grab it from there than to waste everyone's time.

Yeah, which is fine. Just the wiki page doesn't make it look like that.

In general I was looking for a clear cut way to just block everything other than Account A / B, but it doesn't look like there is. Earlier you mentioned if I wasn't sure to use default values, but the wiki page makes it sound like the default values accept other bot trades and similar things which wasn't what I want. I'll have to do some more digging around.

In short, default TradingPreferences of None will cause ASF to automatically accept trades from user with Master access to the bot (explained above), as well as all donation trades from other bots that are taking part in ASF process. If you want to disable donation trades from other bots, then that's what DontAcceptBotTrades in your TradingPreferences is for.

I don't know how it can be explained in even easier terms. Any trade from master+ and any trade from other bot from the same ASF instance if we're not losing any items.
