The old search was always a stopgap solution. I would implement the search this way ages ago if the toolbar wasn't broken.

You can still view posts as a popup, by the way, just click this thing.

The new search can't be closed unless the program gets restarted. Now it has the same issue as turning off highlighting text in posts.

Before the change, I could hit the standard back button or use the standard gesture for closing the search. That doesn't work with the new search.

The search thread interface is just as bad, it doesn't even work

It lets me type in keywords but doesn't filter threads

It's not supposed to. If you want a popup list of matched threads click this -> #1066 (comment)

Lol, it is supposed to. Every search works that way. The only results should be what matches the input.
