The issue you are experiencing:
Mods can not be selected/deselected, and the only visible mods are the ones I had already installed.

However it happened, available_modules is just empty, with no other noticeable corruption. @jp-bse, do you remember any incidents right before this started happening that might give us a clue as to the cause? Were there any unhandled exception errors?

As a workaround, you might be able to fix this from the command line by running mono ckan update. If it doesn't hit any other exceptions, that ought to pull the latest values for available_modules.

after updating information on "696 available modules" CKAN is working correctly. Thank you.

I last ran CKAN yesterday and had no problems or errors that I was aware of.
