Now that we index a sizeable portion of mods, we should provide a nice badge image that can be put into README.md files, forum postings ( see http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/81794 ), kerbalstuff listings, wikis and so on.

The "build passing" icon from travis-ci is what I have in mind.

Its easy to design, but we should have some official CKAN logo or icon.
Is good to ensure that all elements of the visual identity are consistent.

As far as I can remember, we have permission from Squad legal to use something similar to the rocket logo ( see @pjf 's comment #240 (comment) ). I would love to see a logo that looks visually consistent to whatever we chose there.

I love it, and yes, the shields.io badge is visually consistent with the other github badges one might see out there.

Once we have a pretty web-view for CKAN mods established (the equivalent of https://metacpan.org/ ), it would make sense to have the badge redirect to the mod on the CKAN index. For the time being, I'd have the badge link to http://ksp-ckan.org/ , which (thanks to @AlexanderDzhoganov ) currently redirects to the github project, but which we may link to the forum post or the human-friendly index in the future.
