The there are two distinct analyses in the paper - an empirical analysis and a theoretical work explaining the observed pattern. The empirical analysis is inference of transposable element (TE) loads in yeast. We used the sequencing data generated in an experiment in controlled environment by McDonald et al.. We further developed a theoretical model suggesting an explanation of the data. The model is based on the model by Dolgin and Charlesworth.
