This release includes all the data, analyses and code to reproduce the study by Legagneux et al. (2018) DOI: 10.3389/fevo.2017.00175.

• events: international events reported on figure 2 (see below);
• fundingsUSCA: time series of research fundings (yearly frequency);
• newsPaper: number of articles in the newspapers' time series (yearly frequency);
• newsNames: names of the newspapers included in the study;
• sciPaper: time series of scientific papers (yearly frequency);
• sciNames: number of scientific papers we retrieved per journal title.

Functions and figures

• detectPeaks: a peak detection function;

Moreover, three functions are used to reproduce the figures and named after their number in the manuscript:

• figure2.

Future

Further releases may address potential bugs / issues with the documentation but no further development is envisioned.
