need OpenCollada for Maya 2015 MAC #268
Comments
Does the same plug-in work on Mac? I've seen a lot of activity here recently, including lots of Mac build messages, but still the Mac version shows as 2014 in the downloads page. |
(removed previously posted link) you can get a mac or win plug-in for 2015 at http://opencollada.fl4re.com. please report issues. |
Awesome, thanks! Will try it out. BTW, I got the email with the URL http://opencollada/fl4re.com/, which I guess you corrected here. But don't worry, I figured it out! |
Some things to report already: The scripts download as .mel.txt. Fixed that by removing the .txt part. Maya 2015 doesn't have a 2015 folder, and looking at the plug-in manager it seems to prefer /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/, a set of folders had been created there. Now I have the exporter going, on a simple model the geometry is exported well, and really quickly. But I can't find a way to get textures. I checked the "copy textures" box, which seemed to be the only thing that could solve it, but that didn't help. How do I export with textures? My real need involves a more complex scene, but it would be good to get a simple scene out first. |
Thanks for your testing. Sorry for the delay, I had to rewrite the build system for windows, using many different compilers. Interestingly enough, you tested to 'copy texture' feature, which does not work, and never worked as I seen in the code this was never implemented for the mac. Here's the pull request #283 you can find the plugin binary from this pull request at http://opencollada.fl4re.org inside the PULL_REQUEST#283 folder. Please test this build and let me know how it goes. |
Closing since we've been building maya 2015 for mac dor a while now. Please open other bugs as required |
The bundles here:
https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCOLLADA/wiki/OpenCOLLADA-Tools
only go up to Maya 2014, and trying to import that leads to a "too old SDK was used" error. Can someone build for the current SDK please?
Thanks.
