For the schema.org harvest to Research Data Australia, ARDC has been recommending that contributors apply the conventions of https://github.com/ESIPFed/science-on-schema.org when constructing (Dataset, etc..) metadata. The mapping from ANZGeoDCAT to schema.org could go beyond, in a similar way - i.e. to maintain a mapping to the latest (evolving) https://github.com/ESIPFed/science-on-schema.org recommendations.
Ah ha, I knew I'd missed a well-known DCAT/schema.org mapping, the ESIP one! I added two others to the stub mapping document (schema.org's own Dataset info (https://schema.org/docs/data-and-datasets.html) and the European commission's info on DCAT-AP/schema.org (https://ec-jrc.github.io/dcat-ap-to-schema-org/)) but I'll add this one. This is actually the one I know best having worked with some of the authors when it was established, but I forgot about it when creating the mapping document stub. Re-added now: https://linked.data.gov.au/def/anzgeodcat/sdo
If this particular mapping is the ARDC favourite, let's assume we will follow this one unless something comes along to cause us to reconsider.
Mapping of metadata elements to the general-purpose Knolwedge Graph model schema.org
