At the April 14th meeting ( #293 ) we:

discussed the form and content of the advert that is the arxiv White Paper. Some sections are really just placeholders for the future. These can be summarized in sections labelled (or thought of) as laying out “the road ahead,” and commented out. Other sections primarily contain ideas, for analyses not yet (or only just) begun. These sections vary in length, and so may need to be homogenized by condensing or splitting them. Action: Phil to continue audit of white paper sections begun below, commenting out placeholders and adding them to “road ahead” sections."

This is a significant chunk of work, so this should perhaps be an "epic." We already started the audit in the meeting notes, I just need to extend that to refactoring the latex. ("Just") For each science section, I want to:

  • Comment out any placeholder sections, but make sure that science is briefly referred to in the chapter introduction.
  • Identify any sections that have ideas, but not metrics, and fold them into a final section called "Future Work"
  • Check back through that chapter's issues, to see if any can be closed.
  • Collect names of possible reviewers in the top comment of Assign internal reviewers #307

Here's the checklist of science chapters, with links to their issue lists:
