  • It's a single bug. Do not report multiple bugs in one issue.
  • It's a frontend issue, not a backend issue; Otherwise please create an issue on the backend repo instead.

Summary

As discovered in this thread, Lemmy was able to display hashtags in post titles nicely as of 0.18.2, but they look terrible in 0.19.3. By nicely I mean that Lemmy would turn hashtags into hyperlinks. In 0.19.3, it looks like an incorrect markdown link attempt. It would be nice to get the older behavior back.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. From an instance running a version of Lemmy as recent 0.19.3, navigate to a post with a hashtag in the title, such as this one.
  2. Observe that the hashtag renders badly, like broken markdown.

Technical Details

I observed the bad behavior on Lemmy.world from Firefox on my Android smartphone. Hashtags in titles render nicely on my personal Lemmy.crimedad.work instance which runs 0.18.2.
