Hi! I generated a barcode for each of our members with the intention of using them to make a library membership card for each person. However, our scanner won't read them. Can you suggest what I might try?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, what is the minimum length of barcodes you have generated, some scanner can't read small numbers. In that cases, 6-8 digit long barcode works better.

I put 10 digits for the member number and accession number for books if I need to print a barcode. Once you change one number e.g. 2000000187 it will then automatically create a 10 digit accession number for the next books or members you add.

This website is much easier to use though http://www.barcode-generator.org/ and you can save the barcodes into a word doc so that they can be saved for use at a later date. You can also change the size.

Hope this helps!

This website also creates free downloadable barcode in a range of formats https://www.free-barcode-generator.net/

Please tell me how can use this barcode generator. I am about to do a bulk upload for my library. It would help if the system will generate its own barcode.
