This project presents the development of a mobile application for instant messaging, with a feature for automatically translation of the messages. The application is available for devices with Android operational system, it uses the XMPP communication protocol and a statistical method for automatic translating the texts. Combining these features the application supports two users chatting without knowing each other language. The process for translating the messages is invisible to the user, making the communication easier.
