An Opinionated Application

Our Opinions

In building the Collaborative Community Review Application, there are certain opinions held by the development team that guided us as we created the application. This page is meant to document those opinions. This is a living document and will continue to be expanded as more opinions are realized.

Accessible

We want the application to be accessible to anyone and everyone. We test all code, pages, and elements working to make it so that they pass WCAG 2.0 AA standards or higher. All deployed code has gone through accessibility testing.

Similarly, we also share the value with the Public Philosophy Journal that we want the terminology used in the application to be as easy to understand as possible, eliminating technical jargon whenever possible.

Moderate Flexibility

While there will be some areas of the application where we'll build in flexibility, such as drafting email templates or implementing publication-specific submission requirements, there will also be areas where we'll limit the flexibility in honor of our opinions and values.

Usable

We want the application to be easy to use by anyone and everyone. We are working with the Public Philosophy Journal Editorial team to develop workflow. We intend to also do user testing on the interfaces to enhance the functionality to hopefully, making it delightful.
