Can order_provider_id include residents, or only attending physicians?

Hi! I was wondering about the variable order_provider_id, which is the de-identified string representing the provider who ordered a particular event (eg. lab or medication.) Since this is a teaching hospital, I would think residents are often doing these things under the supervision of the attending. Are orders made by residents "assigned" to the supervising attending (eg. someone who I think could be observed under admit_provider_id, at least during the time period the admitting provider is the attending for the patient?), or can residents have their own provider_ids?
