My focus is particularly drawn towards the use of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) as the initial oxygen therapy in these cases. In pursuit of a deeper understanding, I have two questions.

1# HFNC Device Specifications: In the treatment of acute respiratory failure, I noticed a significant number of patients receiving HFNC. Could you provide insights on the specific models or brands of HFNC devices used in these cases? Understanding the device specifications, including flow rate capabilities and other technical details, is crucial for my research.

2# Criteria for Transitioning to Invasive Mechanical Ventilation: Additionally, a considerable proportion of these patients eventually transitioned to invasive mechanical ventilation after HFNC. What are the standard criteria or thresholds used to make this critical decision? I am particularly interested in understanding the clinical assessments, blood gas analysis parameters, or other factors that physicians consider when deciding to escalate from HFNC to invasive ventilation.
