Restaurants

There are lots of excellent restaurants in Salt Lake City. There are few options near the University, but they are certainly decent. For dinners, people will probably be happiest taking the Trax downtown for dinner and then taking it back to the hotel. Or sharing an Uber or walking.

Lunch Options near campus

are concentrated on 1300 E between 200 S and 300 S, with a few places that you'll walk past on 200 S when you leave campus.

The Pi (a pizza place) is on 200 S. It has good hearty pizza pies.

The following places are all on 1300 E:

Indochine (Vietnamese fusion) Good pho and stirfries. (Note: The vegetable pho is made with beef broth, which isn't immediately apparent on their menu)

Aristo's (Greek)

Einstein's Bagels (Bagel Place)

B&D Burgers

Porcupine Grill (Pub food)

##For Dinner

Yelp and other sites will likely send you to fine places. My favorites (Adam) include:

Naked Fish (good sushi - try the calamari. The small plates are very small, but very good.)

Setebello (truly excellent Neopolitan-style pizzas)

Bombay House (hard to get to with public transit, but excellent Indian food)

Skewered Thai (pretty good - and if you order spicy, it's actually spicy!)

Taco Taco (A restaurant downtown. A little pricey) I especially like their veggie burrito.

Taco cart in the Sears parking lot on State Street (is surprisingly great and a burrito is only $3)

Squatters (Pub food - large portions and they brew their own beer)

Beer Hive (Pub food, limited outdoor seating)

Vertical Diner (way down the Trax line) Vegan diner food.

Lucky 13 (Burger place, less far down the Trax line) Beer and burger place. The veggie burger is nice.

Blue Nile and Mahider (two Ethiopian places) I've had them both and they are both good.

Lots of people also like:

Red Iguana (Mexican, specializing in Mole)

Takashi (Sometimes called the best sushi place in town)
